On April 26, a professional discussion took place at the "Elite Plaza" Business Center regarding the issues and potential consequences related to the increase in the tax burden for accounting service providers, set to come into force on July 1, 2025. Accountants and representatives of the SME community from both Yerevan and the regions participated in the discussion. The event was opened by the President of the Association of Accountants of Armenia, Hermin Tovmasyan, who presented the risks of changing the taxation regime mid-year, the concerns of accounting firms, and other issues submitted to the Association by both member and non-member accountants and accounting companies operating in different regions. Following her speech, Hakob Avagyan, President of the Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperation Association, addressed the audience, outlining the challenges and possible consequences the SME community might face as a result of these changes. Several non-member accountants also delivered speeches, including Karine Manukyan, Director of Smart Prof Accounting Company, Susanna Amirjamyan, representative of Safe Invest Accounting Office, and others. They emphasized that the proposed changes would lead to numerous problems for both service providers and service recipients. At the end of the discussion, the participants expressed hope that the relevant authorities would consider all the presented arguments and postpone the adoption of the law until January 1, 2026, which would allow for an appropriate review of prices following the change in the taxation regime.
