Council Sessions

The governing bodies of the association are the Conference and the Council. The Council is elected during the Conference for a four (4) year term. The Council conducts its work in the form of sessions, which are convened at least once every two months. Unscheduled sessions of the Council may be convened at the request of one-third of the members of the Council or the President of the Association. The Council:

• makes recommendations to the Conference on the resolution of issues within its exclusive competence;
• acknowledges a member of the Association, if this function is not assigned to a professional committee or the original organization of the Association, expels a member from the Association;
• elects the President of the Association among its members, early dismisses them from their position; - imposes rewards and penalties on members of the Association;
• carries out the day-to-day affairs of the Association between conferences;
• determines the amount of entrance fee and membership fee to the Association;
• establishes professional commissions, approves the main provisions of the commissions' activities, as well as their statutes, establishes and dissolves specific subdivisions, institutions, professional commissions, and primary organizations (which are established in the communities of the republic and administrative districts of Yerevan city), approves their statutes, appoints their executives;
• makes decisions on bringing officials of the Association to property liability;
• decides on the management and disposal of any type of property, the value of which exceeds AMD 1.000.000 (one million), including financial resources, as well as on conducting monetary transactions exceeding AMD 1.000.000 (one million).

The Council may discuss issues and make decisions if more than half of the Council members are present. Decisions of the Council are adopted by a simple majority of votes of the Council members participating in the Council session. In case of a tie vote, the President of the Council has the casting vote. The powers of a member of the Council are deemed to be terminated early based on their application to the Council for termination of membership, based on the law or the present statute, as well as in cases of unexcused absence of two sessions of the Council within a year without prior notice.
