A meeting was held under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan with representatives of associations advocating for the interests of the business community.
The President of the Association of Accountants of Armenia, Hermine Tovmasyan, also participated in the meeting.
The discussion focused on the current opportunities and challenges in the fields of economic activity and the investment environment, with an exchange of views on possible steps to address them.
President Hermine Tovmasyan presented the issues and potential consequences arising from the legislative amendments entering into force on July 1, which will prevent providers of accounting services from qualifying as turnover tax payers. She also addressed the challenges related to contractual relationships resulting from the need to revise service fees and highlighted the potential risks of an increase in the shadow economy within the sector.
It was agreed that the priority issues requiring solutions will be clarified through upcoming working discussions, with the aim of addressing them more effectively in future Government decisions.
