The inaugural meeting of the Public Council under the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia

On March 16, the inaugural session of the Public Council under the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia was held, chaired by Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan. During the session, the Minister presented a number of ongoing and planned reforms in the justice sector. In particular, the following topics were addressed:

• the digitalization process in the justice sector,
• measures aimed at reducing the workload of courts, including the institution of reasonable timeframes for case examination introduced in the Administrative and Civil Procedure Codes,
• strategic directions in the penitentiary and probation sectors, with emphasis on efforts to improve the institution of conditional early release from punishment.

The Minister also presented:

• measures being implemented within the framework of the anti-corruption strategy,
• the work of the Constitutional Reform Council.

During the session, participants raised a number of questions to the Minister and received clarifications.
Also attending the session was Armen Harutyunyan, representative of the Association of Accountants of Armenia and Director of Universal Business Solutions LLC.
