On September 23, the regular meeting of the SME Development Sub-Council was held at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, chaired by Gevorg Papoyan, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. Hermine Tovmasyan, President of the Association of Accountants of Armenia, also participated in the meeting.
Two proposals aimed at preventing delays in payments to suppliers by retail chains were discussed: the introduction of a regular reporting system on compliance with payment deadlines and the revision of time and monetary thresholds for late payments serving as grounds for liability.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Economy also presented proposals aimed at expanding opportunities for the consumption and promotion of locally produced goods. The proposals are intended to support local SMEs in entering major retail chains, increase the visibility of Armenian-made products, and contribute to strengthening long-term demand for them. Representatives of relevant institutions and organizations participated in the discussions, presenting their comments and proposals.
The Association attaches importance to participating in sector-specific discussions within the SME Development Sub-Council format, contributing to the presentation of the views and proposals of the professional community.
