On December 16, the 29th meeting of the SME Development Council was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan.
The meeting was also attended by Hermine Tovmasyan, President of the Association of Accountants of Armenia.
During the meeting, the draft Strategic Program for Entrepreneurship Development in Armenia for 2026-2030 was discussed. The draft had been previously discussed during the 34th meeting of the SME Development Subcouncil, during which council members presented their observations and suggestions. Based on the received feedback, the draft was revised and presented for discussion at the December 16 meeting of the SME Development Council.
Following a detailed presentation of the draft, members of the SME Development Council expressed their positions on it, directing their questions and suggestions.
Among the main problematic issues raised during the discussion, the central one concerned the structure that would implement the strategy. In this context, two possible models for establishing the appropriate structure were discussed.
Summarizing the work of the meeting and expressing gratitude to all participants, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan emphasized the importance of the presented proposals in his closing remarks and suggested continuing the comparative discussion of the presented models and the selection of the preferred option at the next meeting, which will be held in January, urging meeting participants to formulate their positions on the presented models during this time. The next phase envisions forming a final approach regarding the strategy implementation model, after which further steps will be directed toward the process of approving and implementing the strategic program.
