On March 2, 2017, the regular session of the Extended Public Council of Revenue Policy Improvement established by the order of the RA Minister of Finance was held at the RA Ministry of Finance. The session was attended by representatives of the RA Ministry of Finance, representatives of other departments, and well-known international consulting organizations, which are council members with the right of consultative vote. Vahagn Hambardzumyan, President of the Association of Accountants of Armenia, also participated in the session.
The Extended Public Council of Revenue Policy Improvement session was chaired by RA Deputy Minister of Finance David Ananyan, who highlighted that the issues on the session's agenda are related to the discussion of the proposed amendments to the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia.
During the session, in particular, the practicality of restoring the VAT exemption privilege for the tourism sphere was discussed, as well as the proposals of all interested parties related to the RA Tax Code, the options of amending certain provisions of the Code were debated, the main emphasis was made on creating a favorable environment for the businessmen's activity.
